Systems Integration and Messaging

Meridian is experienced with implementing and supporting HL7 and XML messaging, and incorporates such messaging in most products

Integration is one of Meridian's key strengths especially in health settings using HL7 or XML messaging. 

Meridian has implemented a number of statewide solutions that require integration to every patient administration system in the state.  One of these solutions, Synaptix, has a centralised database and integration with all regional patient administration systems in NSW.

Most Meridian solutions running in Australian hospitals rely on HL7 messages to extract data from, and deliver to, the hospital, regional or enterprise patient administration systems.

Commissioned by NSW Health Meridian built an HL7 server that has been used every since to handle and queue messages between Health based message routers and Meridian applications.

Meridian products utilising HL7 messaging have been tested by the Australian Health Messaging Laboratory and are accredited to meet the interoperability 2006 messaging standards.
