RiskMate a Comprehensive Risk Management Solution

Riskmate is a comprehensive Risk Management Monitoring and Incident Reporting System developed to record and analyse actual and potential Incidents and Hazards/Risks that relate to the people and the environment for which the hospital or facility is responsible.

Some System Details

For each incident a comprehensive set of data is captured and recorded, thus allowing all departments involved to meet their legal and administrative obligations. Data analysis, investigation, assessment and trending facilitate solutions and positive outcomes to ensure continual improvements in safety and quality systems. These systems may exist in a single, small hospital, or across an enterprise consisting of dozens of hospitals and clinics.

Incidents are grouped into three categories; person involved, no person involved and hazard/risk. People are classified into three sub categories; patients, staff and others.

Each module includes an Investigation, Outcome and Review sub section to enable comprehensive details of the entire incident to be recorded.

All incidents may be cross-linked as appropriate.

Riskmate provides the capacity to enable Hazards to be recorded, together with logging the process by which the organisation has investigated such. Riskmate provides a timed reminder feature that enables the user to set a review date, thus enabling checks of outcomes for later QA examination to determine effectiveness. Thus the organisation is able to record it's performance of 'duty of care'.

Sentinel Events

The Sentinel events investigation module includes the capability to apply Root Cause Analysis. Investigations allow incidents to be reviewed using risk management methodology, assessing the consequences and likelihood of re-occurrence, thereby determining the priority for action.

Workers Compensation

Riskmate manages the entire workers compensation process from recording of incident, medical certificate, claim through to payments including split payments as required in 'suitable duty' regimes. Example of screen from Riskmate illustrating the Claims Work Flow:

Reporting

Riskmate provides an array of statistical reports and exports data for key analysis to third party tools such as Business Objects.

Connectivity to local systems

Riskmate may be interfaced with the following systems:

  • For patient data - a one-way interface from the hospitals patient administration system
  • For staff data – a one-way interface from the organisations HR system
  • Riskmate may be easily interfaced to the organisation's insurers systems.
