As explained in the IDME description, expert knowledge of data, its organisation, associated rules and reports are defined as meta data (archetype model) which is stored in a database called a model. This encapsulation of clinical or business knowledge means that draft models can be formulated based on best practise and that these drafts are used as a rapid way of developing a new clinical/business solution using either the IDME or Clinixian.
Our research and development is also looking at using standard nomencaltures such as SNOMED CT to create a data dictionary and its associated hierarchy that can be used to develop a source for new clinical models.
