Ian Mutton - Chairman (nominee)
Ian brings to Meridian over 30 years experience in Corporate Law and has
oversight of all general legal matter and Corporate Governance issues.
Ian’s past career has included bringing prosecutions for the Crown
Solicitor under the Trade Practices Legislation to managing a portfolio
of anti-trust matters for CSR, both within Australia, NZ and the US, most
notably asbestos related.
In addition to his duties at Meridian, Ian continues a thriving practice,
authoring, presenting and advising on anti-trust matters (i.e. managing
relationships with enforcement bodies and providing awareness and compliance
programs).
David R Ashton - Managing Director
David Ashton has worked for over fifteen years in the Government IT sector.
He has extensive experience in the planning, building and implementing
health related applications particularly in the clinical information management
area.
David has had substantial workshop experience and has worked with a large number of clinicians, ancillary staff, allied health workers, health IT and management professionals. David has a wide ranging and in depth knowledge of the health system and its language - especially in the areas of patient care and management.
David has been instrumental in developing the
concepts and approach to an intelligent data management engine. These
concepts grew out of his work in developing a solution to the problems
of having to construct a system that supports complex volatile clinical
data especially for Obstetrics.
Prior to Meridian, David held a numbers of positions at Cognos (Australia)
including that of Marketing Director and Country Manager.
David holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hon) (Electrical, communications)
and Bachelor of Science (Computer Science & Applied Mathematics)
Dr Michael Barnet - Director of Operations
As a Director, Dr Barnet is responsible for a broad range of activities,
including day to day operations, finance, strategy, direction and planning
as well as client relationship management and HR.
Michael has an in depth knowledge of the health industry, where he has
spent the bulk of his time over the last 10 years.
Over the past 20 years he has been involved in a wide range of systems
related projects from strategic planning, through the development life
cycle to systems support across a wide range of industries, including
an extended period as MIS at CSR Ltd.
Since establishing Meridian Health Informatics, Michael has been involved
in many health related project including systems requirements reviews,
data modelling, managing, design and development of over nine years with
systems now spread over 40 public hospitals. Michael has had extensive
experience in software design, data architecture, requirements analysis,
project management, and conducting workshops.
He has a broad knowledge of the public/private health sector, its trends
and strategies and the language and standards relevant to this sector
and has been instrumental in helping to develop a conceptual basis for
clinical product development in Meridian based on the needs and current
state of this market.

Senior Management:
Therese Kramer - Sales and Marketing Manager
Therese's experience covers sales and marketing, education, nursing, records
management, hospitality and agriculture.
Over the past 23 years she has held marketing management, product management,
and sales positions, and has clinical trial management and product development
experience with several international medical companies including Sales
and Marketing Manager Australasia with Cochlear Limited. During her career,
Therese has been strategically involved in the local and international
marketing campaigns for a number of high profile products for International
and Australian companies, and has managed product feasibility studies
and business development for several small Australian manufacturing companies.
Therese has a B. Bus in Marketing from Charles Sturt University and is
currently undertaking a M. Mgt at the University of Technology Sydney.
Therese is also a double certificated trained nurse, with 10 years experience
from nursing unit management to nurse educator and clinical services training.
Her work has taken her to the United States and Europe.
Ambi Thirukumar - Senior Analyst, Testing & QA.
After beginning his career with the Corporate MIS department within CSR
Ltd., followed by an extended period as a senior consultant within NSW
Health, working on both Clinical and Financial systems, Ambi joined Meridian
in 1997.
Since then, Ambi has managed systems testing and quality assurance within
the Meridian development team.
He holds the following degrees:
M. Com. Major in Information Systems and Management from the University
of New South Wales, 1990 and B. App. Sc. (Hon.) Major in Computing Science,
Sub-major in Operations Research from the University of Technology, Sydney,
1987.
John van Yzendoorn - Customer
Support Manager
Since joining Meridian, John has worked for over seven years on projects
for the Government IT sector helping develop and support a range of custom
systems and providing related services to a large number NSW Health sites.
He has been a member of the project teams that designed and developed
of a group of health related systems including operating theatre and medical
officJohn has a wide-ranging knowledge of the systems used within NSW Health.
Prior to joining Meridian, John held technical positions at CSR Ltd and
Barings Bank in the UK.
John holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Science) from the University
of Technology in Sydney, NSW.
Meridian began business in 1990 and still retains a number of its original clients and most of the original staff!
